Restoration of my 67 HB

Hi folks, thought I'd show you how my car is coming along. Basically, its a 1 owner from new jobby, with no restoration done in the past. Its tidy, but the body wants attention and it wasnt running right. I've been uploading pics to my Facebook account but here's the public link so all can have a look.

Things to do:

Refit carb once it returns from the refurbishing place!
New Clutch (got a borg&beck one off of ebay) and speedo oil seal
Re-do exhaust mounts
Minor fetting to engine
Minor touch ups to the interior
Full body respray in original colour
Renew front and rear windscreen rubbers
Various bits of chromework, but nothing major

Anyway hope you enjoy! Will keep updating once I do bits....

Thanks Peter, yes it is nice and original which is how I want to keep it; the respray is really needed though to keep it looking nice, I guess after 42yrs you cant expect it to look like new!

Hopefully looking to finish it at the end of March 2010 - time and funds permitting!

i love the colour! Very 60's which suits the car. Its slowly taking up space in your house- classic. You'll be sneaking bits into the dishwasher..

Thanks all, i'm hoping it will look smart when its done.

The dash top is a little black but not a lot (nothing like my old SL90 went!), but I guess that cant be helped. The interior was one of the reasons I bought it, as it only really needs minor TLC and a spring clean.

History is basically one lady owner from new. It's got 19,700 miles on the clock, and it only had 19,100 on it back in 1991 (loads of MOTs to back this up as well!) so its hardly been used over the last 20 years or so. Got a box full of receipts, tax discs, bills etc which is really interesting reading. When I bought it, I drove it 60 miles back from Surrey which was probably its longest run in some 25 years and pleased to say it made it with only one busted exhaust mount (and some serious misfiring!)

Looking forward to the 2010 season and meeting some other enthusiasts!
